Loving October....

Fall is definitely in the air....my pumpkin candles are burning. leaves are turning, the nights are cool and relaxing, the days are getting shorter...I'm loving this weather.

This weekend I took the time to get a little creative at the loss of doing more housework. I just needed to create. I've recently become addicted to Unity Stamps...thanks to my friend Lisa and Brave Girls, I have a good collection started already. My friend, Cathy, makes beautiful cards and she got me hooked, so I ordered a Spellbinder's Wizard, embossing and die cut machine and now I'm hooked on that as well. This is my first card using some new Unity Stamps and my Wizard.

Since we are having lots of family for Thanksgiving, it was time to replace the dining room furniture I sold a little over a year ago. Heck, it may even be closer to two years now....time flies. Anyway, I digress. BHKB and I have been looking at various furniture places in the area and on Craig's List. We had a budget in mind. We had what we "wanted" in mind. Funny how things happen - the budget was exceeded and we ordered something we hadn't considered. After having a very formal and dark dining room; I really thought we'd be getting another dark colored set. WRONG!

We were on our way to Regency Furniture and decided to go back into Powell's Furniture in Fredericksburg because we heard they were having a sale. There were a couple of sets we liked and thought we'd see if the prices were better.

Well, we ended up ordering a medium oak, mission styled oak set by Pennsylvania House. Totally NOT what I had planned on and then I thought - we never used the other dining room furniture - only for holidays. I wanted inviting. I want a place for friends and family to gather. I want a room that we love. So THIS is what we got. I just go the table and chairs. I am not into matchy, matchy so I am going to look for a unique sideboard piece to go in that room.

It's almost the end of the weekend....and I find myself a little melancholy on Sunday evenings.

Next weekend we are taking some anniversary pics of a couple married 60 years!

Hope you all have a great week!
