Last Day of Vacation

The definition of vacation is: a period of time that a person spends away from home, school, or business usually in order to relax or travel.

The definition of relax is: to become or to cause (something) to become less tense, tight, or stiff
: to stop feeling nervous or worried
: to spend time resting or doing something enjoyable especially after you have been doing work

This is my last day of vacation. It's the first "true" vacation we've taken together in more years than I can even remember.

We traveled to Portland, Maine for my god-daughter's wedding.  It was a beautiful wedding. The weather was beautiful. Time spent laughing and enjoying time with old, dear, friends is never a bad way to spend time.

I have trouble relaxing. I find it challenging to not be productive, every second of every day. But we were not created to live that way.  Finding time to relax and rest is a vital part of living a well balanced life and it's something we are supposed to do. Human beings were not created to multitask. Computers were.

So Mike and I slept late, stayed up late. Didn't make agendas for ourselves. We attended all the wedding functions and had a blast. We ate when we wanted to eat (Mike lost 2 pounds on vacation, I gained 2).

We both decided we had allowed ourselves to become isolated from friends and family and spent too much time at home. Now that we are both losing weight and feeling better - we WANT to go back out and start living life.

Here are some pictures from the weekend.
